DJ Newmark (born Edward Alexander Jr - 17 June 1971) is an American DJ, Radio Personality, Music Producer and current member of the Grammy Award nominated; Platinum recording Hip-Hop group "The Funky Bunch" formally led by Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg).  Known within the entertainment and music industry as "The Legendary Throwback King" of Hip-Hop, R&B and Freestyle music.  Newmark adopted his name in tribute to the name brand of his first set of DJ turntables that he owned (brand name Numark).  Son of a military serviceman, he was born in Okinawa Japan.  As a bi-racial child (Mom is Korean and Dad is Black-American) DJ Newmark traveled the world while embracing the Hip-Hop culture from various countries. 

 

Pioneer DJ's like Jam Master Jay, Cut Creator, Grandmaster Dee, Jazzy Jeff, Mix Master ICE, Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, Mix Master Mike, Red Alert, Mr. Magic, Afrika Bambaataa, Terminator X, Eric B, DJ Premier, Kid Capri and Marley Marl set the example of what Newmark wanted to do on stage. 

 

While moving to a new city every three years, DJ Newmark was able to DJ for a variety of Hip-Hop, R&B and Freestyle crowds across the globe.  When living in the U.S. he performed at events from California to New York taking all of the regional musical styles with him as he learned how to blend them to fit the local scene wherever he was at.  DJ Newmark’s diversity in music genres keeps his dance floors packed and has been a successful formula throughout his career.

"The Legendary Throwback King" DJ Newmark's performance resume spans from over nine countries, 30 states and 90 cities.  Newmark has worked with a countless number of professional athletes; entertainers; comedians and independent as well as major label recording artists.

As a music producer, he has been a contributing member of the Association of Songwriters, Composers and Publishers (ASCAP) since 2001. In January 2023, DJ Newmark released his long-awaited independent debut double album entitled "Hot Tracks" now available on all music streaming platforms.

Although not a household name, DJ Newmark has over 450 live concert and show performances to his credit and has over 150K social media followers. His instagram account has content with over 14 MILLION views. Some of the most notable and influential people that are among his Instagram followers are LL Cool J, Bell Biv DeVoe, Tiffany Haddish, French Montana, Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, Patti LaBelle, Teddy Riley, Xscape, Ice T, Nick Cannon, Lisa Lisa and Faith Evans just to name a few. DJ Newmark's heart and soul remains pure for the old school Hip-Hop, R&B and Freestyle culture.  DJ Newmark has built a name for himself that represents the passion for urban throwback music while keeping it alive for today’s generation of listeners.
